What a weekend! Although it was wet, everyone put forth their best effort to make it a memorable Homecoming. Congratulations to the Hayfield Secondary Chorus for a inspirational rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Also, it was great seeing so many band alumni in the stands!

Upcoming week
Fruit Sales are underway. Our annual fruit sale has started. In addition to traditional signup lists, you will also be able to order fruit online for delivery to Hayfield or to another location (for an additional fee). This year's offering includes navel oranges, grapefruit, mixed grapefruit & oranges and tangelos for $22/box if delivered to Hayfield. If you opt to have your items mailed directly to the recipient, you can also select from a variety of gift boxes. Just select the US Mail button when you go to the site. Remember, students earn money to defer the cost of their Spring Trip with each box sold. So sell, sell, sell!
Chipotle Fundraiser. We have a fundraiser scheduled with the Kingstowne Chipotle on Tuesday, October 14. Please go to Chipotle between 5 and 8 p.m. and state that you are there to support the Hayfield Bands when you get to the register. We will receive a portion of the proceeds for the evening. Please spread the word because we want to beat last year's proceeds (over $500 raised).
Concert Dress Fittings. Concert season is quickly approaching and we need to get the girls measured for Concert dresses. We would like to measure the girls this week.
The class times for fittings are:
Tuesday, October 14: 5th period, 10:54 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
7th period, 12:39 p.m. -2:05 p.m.
Wednesday, October 15 2nd period, 7:20 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.
Thursday, October 16 5th period, 10:54 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
7th period, 12:39 p.m. -2:05 p.m.
I still need volunteers to take measurements during the Wednesday and Thursday classes. Please go to Signup Genius and let us know that you will help.
Away Game This Week. We are headed to Stuart High School on Friday night. Parents of the Drumline and Pit have filled the volunteer slots for the game. Thank you for your support!
Reminder: If you sign up to donate snacks for the game, please ensure that you provide items that are individually wrapped and non-perishable. Additionally, please ensure that your donated items are in the uniform closet by 5:45 p.m. so that we can pack the bins and have them ready to be loaded on the bus by 6:00 p.m.
Competition, Saturday, October 18. The competition band will travel to Watkins Mills on Saturday. I will send the details later in the week.
Other Notes
We Need Pictures. If you have taken pictures during any of the band events, please consider sharing them with us. We will compile a slide show to be shown at the Awards Banquet in November. Please send pictures to Hawkbandbooster@aol.com.
Band Booster Membership. Please consider becoming a member or band patron for the year. You can access the form on the Band Website.
Transition Planning. John Hishta (our Vice President) and I have Seniors this year. We need volunteers to shadow us so that we can begin our transition out of office--you will assume the President/Vice President roles for 2015-16 school year. If you have questions or would like to discuss the requirements of any of the positions, please send a note or call. Lets ensure that we have an active booster organization to support the band program.
