Hayfield High School Band Msg #51...Band Booster Mtg May 17 & Still Opportunities to Volunteer

Band Booster Family,

 

Prelude:  Please note the remaining volunteer opportunities to close out this band season:

Jun 6 Final Concert -- Atsuko will lead boutonnières making for seniors’ last concert

Jun 14 Graduation -- volunteers needed to serve lunch

NOTE: ALL parents, especially parents of juniors, sophomores, and incoming freshmen are needed to attend 7pm, Thur, May 17 Band Booster mtg to not only close out the 2011-2012 season but also plan for the 2012-2013 season.   Below is a draft agenda:

- Major items from last mtg in Oct 5 (Jessica Tyeryar)

- Old budget review (Che)

- New budget proposals (All)

- Past events feedback (All)

- New items: next year’s events and calendar to include Spring trip (Mr. Burke)

6         Band Concert, 7:00pm…The Final Concert…another boutonnières making opportunity for seniors’ last concert and slideshow of senior pics x 3 (1 as a baby, 1 in the middle, and 1 near graduation)

7, 8      Drum Major Auditions, during band classes

?         Underclass Awards, 7:30am, Jazz Band

11       Tri-M Music Dept. Awards -pot luck dessert

14      Graduation, 4:30pm, Wind Ensemble…volunteers needed to serve lunch

18       Marching Band Clinic, 11:30am-1:30pm

- Parents of seniors, thank you to those that have already done this.  It’s time to start sending me the 3 pictures (baby pic, kid pic, & senior pic) of your senior student.  Please e-mail or get them to me by 8 pm, Mon, May 21.  I will use them to put together a short video for the Final Concert, Wed, 6 Jun 2012

Finally, our students REALLY NEED YOU! As most teenagers, they will NEVER admit this. Your VOLUNTEERISM is ESSENTIAL to THEIR SUCCESS!!! Additionally, they really do APPRECIATE seeing you @ their various events cheering for them. Hayfield High School Band Msg #50......Music Dept Spring Trip Success...Thank You! and Band Booster Mtg May 17

Band Booster Family,

 

Prelude:  CONGRATS!  The mixed Wind Ensemble/Symphonic band group got second place and a rating of “Excellent!”  Thank you to EVERYONE (prior to departure, during the trip, and upon arrival) for making this year’s Music Dept Spring Trip to Atlanta, GA a huge success!

They’re passing Stafford around 7:51 am.  They should be in the back of the school early, around 8:30 to 8:45 am.

Hayfield High School Band Msg #49.5......Music Dept Spring Trip...Return Plan/Volunteers Needed

Band Booster Family,

 

Currently, the busses are due back approximately 10 am, Sunday, April 22, 2012 in the back of the school.  Mr. Burke is supposed to contact me when they pass Stafford, VA.  However as a backup, if anyone you know on the trip contacts you with more precise info, then please call me (703) 405-9065.  So, here’s the plan:

-          I will send out another e-mail @ that time

-          We need volunteers to meet @ the back of the school to help unload

-          DO NOT PARK ALONG THE UNLOADING/LOADING CURB BECAUSE THIS IS FOR THE BUSSES!!!

-          IF YOU SEE ANYONE PARKING THERE, PLEASE KINDLY ASK THEM TO MOVE;)

We’ll work together to make this as easy & streamline as possible;)  See you tomorrow morning.

Prelude:  This week, the Band and rest of the Music Dept are off to Atlanta, GA for their spring trip performances and some fun.  Mandatory spring trip mtg for students, parents, and chaperones, 7pm, Tues, Apr 17 in the Middle School Lecture room.

 

NOTE: Parents of seniors, thank you to those that have already done this.  It’s time to start sending me the 3 pictures (baby pic, kid pic, & senior pic) of your senior student.  Please e-mail or get them to me by 8 pm, Mon, May 21.  I will use them to put together a short video for the Final Concert, Wed, 6 Jun 2012

Hayfield High School Band Msg #48......Spring Trip Rehearsals

Prelude:  Hopefully, everyone has enjoyed not receiving e-mails from me for a few weeks and been spending some quality time with your kids on Spring break;)  For this week, the band will top off their skills for the spring trip performances.
