Band Tag Day #2 - SEPTEMBER 29th

Good Morning, Band Family!!

We have rescheduled tag day #2 for Saturday, September 29th!  We need drivers!

As you know, the weather has not been kind at all this summer, and we had to cancel our original date because of Florence, but it's supposed to be beautiful weather on Saturday!!

If you can drive, please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0b4baca92ea1ff2-2018
Students are signing up in the band room.

Another bonus for your student signing up for tag day is it helps defer the cost of their Spring Trip.  In case you didn't know, the band is traveling to Universal Studios Orlando in March!!  Your student earns credits for participating in tag day, $50 for 1 day, $25 for the 2nd day, for a total of up to $75 off the cost of their spring trip.

Please consider driving on Saturday.  This is our largest fundraiser of the year!  Your help is needed and greatly appreciated!!

Thank you so much!!

This Week In Band!!

Happy Labor Day Weekend, Band Family!

We hope you all enjoyed the first week of school and are now enjoying a relaxing 3 day weekend!

The weather hasn't been playing very nicely for the marching band, having to hold rehearsals inside due to heat, and a cancellation of attending the first away game due to storms. Hopefully the weather cools and cooperates the remainder of the season!

There are afternoon rehearsals this week, Tuesday-Thursday, 3:15-5:15.  There is no Friday football game at all due to a bye week.

And we have our first Tag-Day on Saturday, 9/8!!!  This is our largest fundraiser of the year!  The students canvas neighborhoods within Hayfield's boundary asking for donations.  We still need students to sign-up in the band room, and parents to sign-up to drive!!  You can sign-up here:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0b4baca92ea1ff2-2018

We meet in the band room at 8.  The students eat breakfast, dress in their uniforms, and have a safety briefing before heading out into the neighborhoods in groups at 9 a.m.  Drivers are asked to meet across from the band room to receive the names of students in their group, neighborhood assignment and envelopes, and a safety briefing as well.  Tag day normally runs until after 2:00 p.m. so please make sure your band student has lunch money or a packed lunch as they will take a lunch break with their group.  Participating in Tag Days will also help defer the cost of the Band Spring Trip!!  So please sign-up!!!

Feel free to sign-up for other volunteer opportunities as well!!  The band needs a lot of help to put on their performances!  Help with uniforms, feeding dinner, moving equipment on and off the field, chaperoning, and the list goes on!!  We need you!!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
