Hayfield High School Band Msg #44...High School Band Concert Thank You to Students (Please Share with Your Kids)

Hayfield Band Students,

Thank you for another great symphonic & wind ensemble concert tonight! Though I never played in band growing up, I was an honorary band member with my classmates. For the past 7 yrs, you have not only enriched my life with your God-given musical talents, but you've shown me that the next generation has the character, intelligence, manners, work ethic, and discipline to keep America strong. I'm extremely proud of each & every one of you. It's been an honor representing & cheering you on these past 7 yrs (3 yrs as the Band Booster Prez). I'm relishing each of the last few concerts with all of you this year. My thoughts and prayers will always be with you as you continue on your individual journeys:) HAWKS ROCK!

Sincerely,

Mr. Che Russell

Band Booster Prez

RE: Hayfield High School Band Msg #43...High School Band Concert 7pm, Tues, 28 Feb...Festival Chaperones Needed

Band Booster Family,

Thanks to Kelley John for noticing the slight error for Wind Ensemble, Sat, March 3rd.  Even though the overall heading reads Annandale High School, under the subheading for that date, accidentally had West Potomac;)

Humbly serving our kids,

Che

Hi Che,

You may want to revise your schedule below. It mentions 10:45 am at West Potomac High School. I just thought you would want to know! I hope all is well. Thanks.

-          Student Accounts for Music Department Spring Break Trip:  Because Tag Days (10 & 17 Sep 2011) were so successful and fewer students participated, each student was able to earn more toward their student account this year.  Thank you to Rob Dowell, Treasurer for continuing to work out the details for student accounts.  For your planning/budgeting purposes as you prepare to make the fifth & final Spring Break trip payment due March 1st, please use the following guidelines:

1.       Students working the 1st Tag Day (the longer whole day), Sat, 10 Sep earned $70

2.       Students working the 2nd Tag Day (the shorter day), Sat, 17 Sep earned $40

3.       Students working both Tag Days earned $110

4.       Parents that drove either/both Tag Days earned $25 maximum to their students’ account to offset cost of gas

5.       Students fruit sales earned $5 per box sold

NOTE: Again, these are the general rules of thumb for this year, & actual student accounts are still being calculated.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

RE: Hayfield High School Band Msg #39...University of Virginia (UVA) Trip Friday, 10 Feb 2012

Band Booster Family,

I received the following wardrobe advice from Mr. Burke:

No jeans, no  sneakers, no sandals. Men should wear button down shirt, dress pants nice shoes and socks. Ties would be nice. Ladies should wear business/Sunday church- type clothes, and  should be able to sit in a chair  properly without exposing themselves. They should wear shoes that will be comfortable for walking around the campus. They should have a jacket for chilly weather. They should look like the kind of mature adult that a recruiting officer might remember as an outstanding candidate.

Humbly serving our kids,

Che
