Hayfield Band Boosters (Message 49): Chipotle Fundraiser, Tuesday, May 20

Boosters,

Thanks to those who attended the Band Booster Meeting on Thursday, May 15, 7 p.m.  Planning for the 2014-2015 school year is underway.  I will post a summary of the items discussed during the meeting in a later update.

Fundraiser Tuesday, May 20.  We are planning a final fundraiser for the year at Chipotle, Kingstowne, May 20, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The address is 5955 Kingstowne Towne Center, Suite 160, Alexandria, VA.  Please spread the word so that we will have a good turnout. This is an opportunity to replenish our funds for expenses that will be incurred before Fall Tag Day fundraiser.   I am attaching a handout that can be printed and presented to the cashier as you place your order.  Alternatively, you can tell them verbally or show them the handout on your mobile device.  However, you must say that you are supporting the Hayfield Bands in order for us to get credit.

Other Notes

Senior Recognition.  The final concert of the season is scheduled for June 2.  It is our tradition to collect 3 pictures of the Senior band members to display during the concert.  We'd like to get baby/child; tween/teen and senior photos if possible. Since we have only received pictures from one student, we are extending collection through May 21.  Please send your photos to me as soon as possible; the e-mail address is: Hawkbandbooster@aol.com.

Volunteer Opportunities.  We still need volunteers for the Year End Awards dinner and the Graduation Luncheon.  For the Graduation Luncheon, parents of Freshman/Sophomore/Junior students should volunteer, since parents with Senior students will be attending graduation festivities.  Please go to Signup Genius and let us know if you can help.

Transition Planning.   John Hishta, Vice President, and I will have Seniors for the 2014-2015 school year.  We need two volunteers to shadow us so that we can begin the transition during the Summer of 2014--you will assume the President/Vice President roles for 2015-16 school year.  Parents of rising Sophomores and Juniors, please consider taking on one of these roles.  If you have questions or would like to discuss the requirements of any of the positions, please send a note or call.   Lets ensure that we have an active booster organization to support the band program.

Boosters,

High-fives to all of the volunteers who came out on April 30 and May 1 to support the Band's Spring Trip!   You searched the bags and loaded the busses in record time.  Thanks to Rafael Quezada, Kristy Baik, John Hishta, Renee Glasby, Rusty Booth, Michelle Booth, Norida Torriente, Janaia DeShields, Sonjo Jones, Mark Dalton and Melvin Cloud.  My apologies if I missed anyone.  We couldn't provide the exceptional support to the band program without your commitment.
