Hayfield Band Boosters (Message 28)--Update on Band Events

Greetings Boosters,

I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.

We concluded our Fruit Sale earlier this month.  We sold over 300 boxes of fruit during the sale.  Many thanks to our Fruit Sale Chairperson, Linda Lichtman, for organizing this outstanding fundraiser.   The band will receive approximately $5 for every box sold.  Thanks for supporting the kids!

The new Marching Band jackets arrived!  Regrettably, they arrived too late to be used this season but we will be ready to go next marching season.  In January, we will begin unpacking the new uniforms as well as cataloguing them to streamline jacket assignment to returning band members.

The pace has slowed as we have transitioned to concert season.   However, there are a few near-term events that I would like to highlight.

Planning notes

Fruit Pickup, 4 December.    We need volunteers to help with fruit delivery on December 4.  The fruit will be delivered sometime during the day.  Our Chairperson will have a better idea about the times that volunteers are needed after the truck is loaded with our shipment.  So if you have some flexibility in your schedule please go to Signup Genius and let us know that you can help.   This is also an excellent opportunity for the students to contribute so please encourage them to help also.

Concert, 13 December.  The first concert of the season will begin at 7 p.m. in the Hayfield auditorium.

Tiny Tots Concert,  December 14.  The Tiny Tots Concert will be held in Hayfield auditorium at 9:30 a.m.  The Band will present costumed characters and play holiday music to an enthusiastic audience of elementary school students. We need your help to execute this Hayfield tradition.  We have the following volunteer needs:  Costume Helpers, On Stage Helpers, Front Row Helpers, Back of Auditorium Helpers.  If you have a couple of hours available on the 14th, please go to Signup Genius and let us know where you will help.

Spring Trip, April 17-21.  The trip includes lodging, bus transportation, adjudication and performance fees, 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners, a 3-day park-hopper pass to Walt Disney World Parks, dining coupons for the parks and a dinner show experience.  Students will need to bring money for 1 dinner, 2 breakfasts, 4 lunches and money for shopping.  The cost is $680 dollars, payable in 5 payments of $136.  The third payment will be due January 4 with additional payments due February 1, and March 1.  Checks should be payable to Hayfield Secondary School.  Note:  the cost of each student's trip will be adjusted with any fundraising credits that he/she accrues in his/her Booster organization account.

Spring Trip Chaperones.  Chaperones are needed for the trip to Orlando.  If you are interested in accompanying the students, please let Mr. Burke know as soon as possible.
