Prelude: Hope everyone had a great holidays and a chance to celebrate and make memories with family & friends.

Since Hayfield usually hosts the All-District Band rehearsals and concert, things to plan for & get volunteers:
We do a hospitality suite for all of the Directors (Atsuko Russell has graciously volunteered to lead this effort). It involves breakfast and lunch usually for Friday and Saturday.
Additionally, we provide a concession stand for students to buy snacks during their breaks on Friday and Saturday. Also on Saturday we do the pizza lunch. Mr. Burke will need to get a count of the number of slices (cheese/pepperoni) during the Friday rehearsals (relatively early so you can let Papa Johns know how many pizzas you will need for Saturday and they can schedule their staff). The rest of the concessions (water, soda, candy, chips, etc) is an educated guess based on previous years. WE NEED SOMEONE WITH COSTCO MEMBERSHIP to buy concessions items…please let me knowJ We set the prices on everything so that we make very little profit (or at least didn't lose money) because we see it mostly as a service for the students attending.

- Thank you to Band Booster parent/alumni Jean Martelli for sharing her photographic talents: Composite Pictures of your child are now available for purchase through www.jeaneimages.com using password, “2011band” when prompted. Click on the link, and order pictures from this sight. A large composite picture will be made of the whole band from these pictures.
- Mr. Burke shared a UVA Band Day trip opportunity for 20 Feb…more info to follow
- Parents of seniors, it’s not too early to be thinking about the 3 pictures (baby pic, kid pic, & senior pic) you want to use for the Final Concert, Wed, 6 Jun 2012
Finally, our students REALLY NEED YOU! As most teenagers, they will NEVER admit this. Your VOLUNTEERISM is ESSENTIAL to THEIR SUCCESS!!! Additionally, they really do APPRECIATE seeing you @ their various events cheering for them.
