Wind Ensemble Rehearsal Cancelled 2/7/18

Due to today's "snow day", tonight's Wind Ensemble rehearsal is cancelled.  Enjoy your evening!  And practice!!

All-District Weekend

Good evening - 

Beginning next Thursday, the Hayfield band department and the band boosters will be sponsoring All-District  band weekend.  Congrats to all of the Hayfield band kids who made it!   The boosters need your help in making this weekend a success for all involved.  We will be providing breakfast and lunch for the directors on Friday and Saturday, lunch for the kids on Friday and Saturday, and concessions during orchestra breaks.  Parents who have kids participating – this would be a great opportunity to witness and appreciate all of the work that your student puts into his/her musical interest.  Please visit the SignUp Genius to volunteer for a time slot next weekend.

Here is the schedule for the weekend:

February 1-3, 2018
Thursday – 5:00pm-7:00pm, All  percussionists 
                     7:00pm - 9:00 pm Reading session for all bands
Friday -       8:30am - 12:00pm Rehearsal 
                    12:00pm-1:00pm Lunch 
                    1:00pm – 4:30pm Rehearsal 
                    Breaks at the discretion of the clinicians 
Saturday -  8:30am – 11:30 noon Rehearsal 
                    11:30am- 12:00 pm lunch
                    12:00pm-12:30pm dress for concert
                    Middle Symphonic Band warm-up -12:30pm 
                    Symphonic Band warm-up – 1:00pm 
                    Wind Ensemble warm-up – 1:30pm 
                    Concert 2:00pm

Hayfield Bands Catch-Up

Good evening - 

Thanks to those of you who came out for the booster meeting on Tuesday!  We have a few updates for you.

Auditions for All-District Band is on Saturday at West Potomac High School.  Please confirm your child’s time as some may have been given new times due to the rescheduling.  Go here for info: http://www.hayfieldbands.com/all-district-band.html.

We are once again hosting the All-District band weekend, which includes rehearsals with those chosen for the band and a concert on Saturday, February 3rd.  The boosters are sponsoring lunch for the kids, breakfast and lunch for the directors, and concessions.  We need all of the help we can get!  Please go to the SignUp Genius to see if you can donate some time for that weekend: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0b4baca92ea1ff2-2017.

Last, if you haven’t paid your child’s fees for the spring trip, please do so.  I know that it’s been hard to remember with the sporadic school schedule lately, but please remember to send in your payments as soon as possible.  If you have lost track of your balance due, contact Mr. Burke.

Hayfield Band Booster Meeting - Jan. 16

Good afternoon, Everyone - 

Happy New Year!  

We will have a band booster meeting on Tuesday, January 16th at 7:00pm in the band room.  I have attached the agenda and minutes from the last meeting.  Please read over the minutes and bring any corrections/additions to the meeting on Tuesday, or you can email them to me.  

We will be talking about All-District auditions, the All-District concert weekend, the spring trip, and other exciting topics.  Please come and show your support to our band program!

fiVe BELoW Fundraiser

Good evening - 

Do you still need to get stocking stuffers?  Secret Santa or White Elephant gifts?  Well, you’re in luck!  All this week, Monday through Friday, fiVe BELoW at Springfield Mall will give back 10% of sales to Hayfield Bands that are accompanied with the attached flyer.  You MUST have the flyer to receive credit.  

Also, a reminder, there will be NO band booster meeting on Monday.  The next meeting will be January 8th at 7:00pm in the band room.  Hope to see you all there!

Caroling for Cans on Sunday!

The Hayfield Citizens Association in conjunction with Girl Scout Troop 2454, and with the support of our Hayfield Band, invite you to Caroling for Cans - THIS SUNDAY, 12/3 from 2-4pm, at Hayfield Park in Hayfield Farm.

Donations received from photos with Santa will benefit the Hayfield Marching Band Uniform Fund. Non-perishable food items collected will be donated to the Koinonia Foundation, Inc.  (Please see the attached flyer.)

Come out and help us make a JOYFUL noise!
