Hayfield Band Boosters 2014-15 (Message 11): Need Volunteers for the Football Game Friday, Sep 12; Tag Day #2, Sep 13

Boosters,

We need three or more drivers for Tag Day on Saturday.  Tag Day is our most important fundraiser.  We still have a lot of neighborhoods to finish/cover. Please go to Signup Genius and let us know that you will help.  Likewise, please encourage your student to participate in Tag Day.  Funds raised support the band program.  They can sign up in the Band Room tomorrow.  

We also need a couple of volunteers to help with moving equipment to/from the field tomorrow night.  Parents of the Drumline and Pit students are responsible for the slots.  Please go to Signup Genius and let us know you will help.

Hayfield Band Boosters 2014-15 (Message 10): Football Game Friday, Sep 12; Tag Day #2, Sep 13

Boosters,

I have one word to describe your volunteer spirit this week...AWESOME!  Your efforts for the football game on Friday night & Tag Day #1 on Saturday were much appreciated.  Although the kids will probably never say it, I know that they too appreciated your support and encouragement.  

I can't say enough about Tag Day.  First and foremost, thanks to our students who cheerfully canvassed the neighborhoods in spite of the heat.  Many thanks to our Tag Day Chairs--Ellen Hishta and Theresa Larsen.  Your hard work in organizing the event, preparing the maps & envelopes, and preparing the drivers really paid off.  We collected $6783.78 on Saturday!

Upcoming Week

Football Game.  Our second home game is scheduled for Friday, September 12.  We will be playing Westfield HS.  The Drumline and Pit Sections are assigned volunteer duties for the game.  Most of the slots are filled.  However, we still need volunteers to move equipment, set up the stands and to distribute uniforms before the game.   

If you signed up to donate snacks for the game, please ensure that you provide items that are individually wrapped.  Additionally, please ensure that your donated items are in the uniform closet by 6:00 p.m.

Tag Day.  Tag Day #2 is scheduled for Saturday.   Please encourage your student to sign up.  There is a sign up board in the band room.  We still have many neighborhoods to visit.  We also have several open slots for drivers.  Please go to Signup Genius and let us know if you can help.  Tag Day #2 is typically a shorter day with most finishing their neighborhoods by 1230.

Hayfield Band Boosters 2014-15 (Message 9): First Home Game Friday, September 5

Boosters,

Our first home game is tomorrow night!  A reminder:  On game days, the students stay after school for rehearsal.  The Boosters will serve a pizza dinner after rehearsal.  Thanks to the Boosters that have signed up to help with dinner.  

The students will not wear uniforms tomorrow night.  So I have cancelled the volunteers that were signed up to help with uniforms before and after the game.  Regrettably, Signup Genius did not send notifications of that change.  Thank you for volunteering and I hope you will consider signing up for a future game.

Fwd: Hayfield Band Boosters 2014-15 (Message 8): Tag Day Signup

Boosters,

Please ensure that your student has signed up for Tag Day #1 on Saturday, September 6.  Tag Day is the band's major fundraiser and we need for all students to participate.  Although we would like for students to participate in both Tag Days (Tag Day #2  is scheduled for Sep 13), we understand that JMU Band Day and the scheduled SAT may present conflicts for some band members.   If you know that your student will definitely not participate in Tag Day 2, please ensure they support Tag Day #1.  

Remember, students that participate in Tag Days will earn credits toward the Spring Trip.  There are a lot of neighborhoods to cover on Saturday.  Although the Boosters will provide a continental breakfast before the students get started, we recommend that they also bring a snack since it is a long day and there will be no official lunch break.

Fwd: Hayfield Band Boosters 2014-15 (Message 7): First Football Game Friday Night

Boosters,

We are working feverishly to ensure that the marching band uniforms will be ready for this weekend's events--first Home Game on Friday night & Tag Day on Saturday.  Thanks to the following volunteers for your help:

Uniform Assignment: Kristy Baik  Daria Bergen-Hill, Patrick Cloud, John Hishta, and Theresa Larsen

Uniform Alterations:  Sylvia Fischer, Fatima Lou, Djamilla Lou, Eva Romero, Yvette Sutton, Juselyn Tupik, Sherri Tupik, 

Uniform Cleaning:  Kristy Baik, Melvin Cloud

The students will practice as usual on Friday afternoon.  They will remain at the school until game time.  Dinner will be served around 5:30.  The Boosters provide pizza, drinks and dessert.  

Volunteers for Football Games. The Drum Majors and Section Leaders are assigned Friday's game.  The assigned section's parents are responsible for filling all of the volunteer slots for the assigned game. We want to continue to provide the same level of support as in years past. However, we can not do it without your support.  There are still volunteers needed for equipment helpers.  Please go to Signup Genius and let us know where you will help.

Tag Day.  Tag Day is of our major fundraisers for the year.  Students go door-to-door in the Hayfield community seeking donations for the band programs.  Residents are very generous and look forward to seeing the students in the Marching Band uniforms. Students that participate in Tag Day earn credits toward the Spring Trip.  Our first Tag Day is Saturday, September 6.  

Your student should have signed up for Tag Day on the posters in the band room.  There is still time to sign up but please do it  soon so that we can ensure that we have enough drivers.  We need at least 3 additional drivers for Saturday.  Please go to Signup Genius if you can help. We will meet in the Band Room at 8:00 a.m. to get dressed and to receive the neighborhood assignments.
