HSS Band - THANKS and CONGRATS!

Dear Band Families,

Big round of applause and pat on the back to all the hard-working students and parents today and at Friday night's game!

Great teamwork from the Hawks Flight Crew ~ many thanks to all you dedicated volunteers!

(At the risk of leaving out a deserving name, I'm going to try to mention at least a few of you all ...!) Special thanks to Dottie and the other "uniform moms" - Atsuko, Jean, and Michelle - who've been sewing buttons and hemming pants to get the students ready. Thanks to: Mike, Sol, Che, Rob, Michael, Jeff, Jocelyn, Donna, Robert, and students Sarah, Taylor, and Angela for moving equipment. Thanks to the Fabre, Baetsen, Schuler, Stevenson, Palting, Gardner, and Richards families for providing snacks and water. Thanks to Don for driving the truck, and Ralph and Rob for riding along. It's great to see all the teamwork; please know how much your time is appreciated!

And, what great performances by our students Friday and Saturday ... the band just gets better & better with every performance ~ congrats on the 3rd-place finish in the tough III-A division in the competition today!

Hey, Mother Nature: take a hint from the Hayfield show -- The Four Seasons of Jazz -- there's more than one season .... it's time to ditch Summer and get to that nice cooler Autumn weather!

Hawks Rock!

Humbly serving our kids,
Lorraine

HSS Band 2010-11.9 Thanks for all the help! Football game Friday/Tag Day Saturday

Wow -
what a terrific group of volunteers ... !!!

Truly - thanks to each & every one of you who helped with stapling and who drove to Island Creek Wednesday. From the siblings to students to parents to grandparents ... all your help was definitely needed and most appreciated.

Friday: first HOME football game; marching band report at 6pm. Parent volunteers who are helping with equipment before the game report between 6 and 6:30pm. Snack & water volunteers: you can send the donations w/ your band student; there will be coolers & snack bins in the band room. We could use a few more parent volunteers to move equipment onto the field at the start of the game; if you find you can help at the last minute, please feel free to join us.

Our band booster t-shirts are supposed to be ready tomorrow; If they arrive in time, I'll have them ready for distribution at the game.

Thanks to support from the Hayfield community, Friday's game was voted as the Fox 5 High School Game of the Week ... so, we'll welcome Fox 5 cameras to our field!

Saturday Morning: Tag Day #1 -- students and drivers report to the band room 7:30am to receive instructions, change into uniforms, and hit the road by 9:01am to knock on doors. All groups and drivers should be set and ready to go; contact Erin Fitzsimmons Dfitzsimmo@aol.com or me with any questions or changes.

Again - thanks to all of you who pitched in this week ... and thanks to those of you who've signed up to help this weekend.

Go Hawks!
