Hayfield Band Boosters (Message 35)--Band Booster Update

Greetings Boosters,
 
Volunteers Needed
We will begin cataloguing our new Marching Band Uniforms on Wednesday evening, 16 January.  I need 2 volunteers to assist.  If you can spare an hour or two, please sign up on Signup Genius. 
 
All District Weekend at Hayfield, 1-2 February.  Thanks to those who have stepped to support this even.  However, there are still open slots.  There is a critical need for a volunteer to support the Hospitality Suite on Friday, 1 Feb.  Please go to Signup Genius and let us know where you can help.
 
Please consider serving as an officer or leading a committee for the 2013-2014 school year.  If you are interested, please send me a note.   We have a couple of positions opening due to graduation.   We need your help to continue giving our kids the support they deserve. 
 
 Reminders
The Wind Ensemble will begin night rehearsals this week.  Night rehearsals will continue until the Spring Trip
 
Spring Trip, April 17-21.  The trip includes lodging, bus transportation, adjudication and performance fees, 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners, a 3-day park-hopper pass to Walt Disney World Parks, dining coupons for the parks and a dinner show experience.  Students will need to bring money for 1 dinner, 2 breakfasts, 4 lunches and money for shopping.  The cost is $680 dollars, payable in 5 payments of $136.  The fourth payment is due February 1 and the final payment is due March 1.  Checks should be payable to Hayfield Secondary School.  Note:  the cost of each student's trip will be adjusted with any fundraising credits that he/she accrues in his/her Booster organization account.  The credits are currently being assigned and the totals will be available 25 January.

Hayfield Band Boosters (Message 34)--Correction to Evening Rehearsal Schedule

Update:  Evening rehearsals will not begin this week.  The first evening rehearsal will be Wednesday,  January 16.

Hayfield Band Boosters (Message 33)--Band Booster Update

 Greetings Boosters,
 
Happy New Year!  I hope that all of you had a wonderful holiday season. 
 
The year ended with a fantastic band concert on December 13 and the Tiny Tots performance on December 14.   The kids attending the Tiny Tots concert had a great time, singing, greeting characters, and getting to know the various band instruments. 
 
Thanks to our Tiny Tots volunteers.  Dottie Andrews, our VP, took on the task on outfitting the characters and organizing the parade.  Terrific job!  She was assisted by Ellen Hishta and Kathleen Strausser.  Eva Romero and Jessica Tyeryar helped with auditorium control and distributing treats to the kids.   You helped make it a magical morning for the tots.
 
Our next big event is the All District Band Weekend which will be held at Hayfield 1-2 February.  We are the host and will be responsible for student concessions and stocking/manning the hospitality room for the teachers.   If you can help on either or both days, Please let me know on Signup Genius.  
 
The Wind Ensemble will begin night rehearsals this week.  Night rehearsals will continue until the Spring Trip.  Since the Band Room will be open each Wednesday evening, I would like to get a head start on next season by cataloguing the new uniforms, identifying the old uniforms with the most wear/tear and storing the new uniforms.  Please go to Signup Genius and let us know if you can help.
