Parents of band students participating on the Orlando trip,

I wanted to give you a heads up on our departure plans for our Orlando trip.

As you know, The high school band, choir and orchestra are leaving April 19 and returning April 23.

We will leave Wednesday night about 6pm. We will return Sunday around 3pm.

On Tuesday night, April 18th, we will have a big meeting and  take kids luggage. We will keep the luggage that night and have the parents search the luggage.

Those parents will load the luggage so the kids won't have access to it before we leave.

Then at about 5:30pm on Wednesday, we will have the kids go through the middle school lecture room to have their on-bus back pack searched, just like at the airport, again by parents. Then , they get right on the bus, and we're off by 6pm.

So, we need parents to help us out.

1)     Can you spare time on Tuesday night to help search luggage?

2)    Can you spare time on Wednesday helping to load luggage, and search back packs?

Please let us know for any or all activities. Many hands make for light work!

Thanks.

The boosters need your help!  We are hosting 240 students and 35 band directors from across the county!

Please sign up to help if you can, even if it's only for an hour or two.  Please make a note on your signup the hours in which you can volunteer.  Students can also sign up to help on Saturday and Friday AFTER school.

FW: Email to parents re Caroling for Cans

Good Evening, Band Parents –

Our Marching Hawks have been invited to join Girl Scout Troop 529 and the Hayfield Farm Community for the annual Caroling for Cans event - an afternoon of holiday songs, cookies and hot cocoa – this Sunday, December 4 from 3:00 to 5:00pm. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in attendance for photo opportunities. Proceeds from Photos with Santa will benefit the Uniform Fund.

Please consider attending and representing the HSS Band. No instruments needed (but encouraged if you have one!) - the Girl Scouts will provide song books and we ask that the band join in caroling. Canned, nonperishable food items will be collected and donated to Koinonia.

Hope to see you there!
