Marching Band Season

Happy Marching Band Season!!

We are gearing up for a fantastic marching band season! With week one of band camp complete, we are off to a successful start!

Next week is a very busy week for the students! Band camp runs from 9-5, M-F. Please make sure they have a lunch, and everything they need to stay safe in the sun. They will be outside a lot, so sunscreen, hats and glasses are a must!

Thursday evening, the students will have a pool party at the Hayfield Pool. If your family has a membership there, please have your child bring their pool pass with them on Thursday. The party is from 5-8, and pizza will be served for dinner.

Friday evening the Marching Hawks will have an exhibition at 5:00 p.m. You are invited to come watch their show in the rear parking lot. We will have a potluck dinner immediately following their performance.  Please bring the following according to your last name:

A-H - Main dish

I-R - Side dish

S-Z -Dessert

Everyone a 2 liter beverage

Finally, we need your help!! Our children work very hard all season, but they can't do it without us!! There are many volunteer opportunities you can sign-up for. Please visit our link at:

Graduation lunch helpers needed

Good morning,

The Band Boosters are responsible for providing and serving lunch to students from band, orchestra and chorus that are performing at Graduation on Friday.

We have a couple of volunteers already signed up, but we could surely use a few more.  If you are available around 11:30-12 on Fridayto help set up and start serving lunch around 12:30, we'd greatly appreciate your help!!!

We are starting a Fundraising Drive to ... wait for it ... GET NEW UNIFORMS!!!!

CARWASH!!!!!  Saturday, 9am - 2pm!!

This SATURDAY our Drumline and Band Students will host a car wash in the front of Hayfield by the drop off loop.  9am-2pm.

ZIPS DRY CLEANING FUNDRAISER!!!  //  Thursday ALL DAY!!    7am - 8pm

It is that time of year again...  The Alexandria North Kings Highway location is sponsoring a fundraiser .. we earn 10% of all sales.

Bring your clothes, comforters, jackets -- THURSDAY!! All Day!!  7am-8pm

You don't need to bring the flyer or mention the Band we earn 10% of everything dropped off !!

Last year ZIPS donated over $500 to our band program from this fundraiser!!

Plus since our concert is Tuesday -- we can all bring the tuxedos in for Dry Cleaning!!

Parents of 2016-2017 band members,

 

We have lowered the fee for marching band next year! In discussions with the finance department and the administration here at Hayfield, We have lowered the mandatory marching band fee for next year from $150 to $125.  If you have sent in a check, or paid using SCHOOL PAY, we will be returning that to you, and asking for a new check for $125.

 

Please remember that regardless of whether your child is participating in competition band or Friday only band, the fee is required of all high school band members.

 

Apologies for any inconvenience, and thank you for your  all your time and effort in the band program.

Just a reminder to go sign up to help on Saturday!! We cannot do this fundraiser without many hands!! Rising freshman/new band members for next year are highly encouraged to sign up!

Please consider helping, if even for an hour or two! Please help the Marching Hawks!!

This is a special night for our Seniors, as it is their last High School concert. To celebrate their achievements, we are looking for pictures of our Seniors, as well as some from the band year, to include in a slideshow to be played at the concert.

Seniors should send 3 pictures, - a baby picture, grade school age, and a senior picture.
