Parents of students who have signed up for High School Band for 2016-2017,
I wanted to give you some information about high school band for next year, and our preparations.
We have increased enrollment, with the possibility of the biggest band we've had on Friday nights in a decade.
We are getting started earlier, fitting uniforms for all students before school is out, collecting fees and getting volunteers in place before band camp.
Included is a letter I'm handing out to the students this week, and a copy of the forms , that's also on the band web site.
If you have questions, please let me know.
Looking forward to a great season.

To: Hayfield Secondary School High School Band Members for 2016-2017
Every Student in the high school band program will be required to be a part of the marching band. We have a choice, however, in your amount of participation. Students have the option of two different levels of participation in our marching band program: 1) Competition Band or 2) Friday Band.
Competition band is our most involved program. We practice three days a week after school for two hours each, Friday game day rehearsals, game performance, three competitions on Saturdays, and a few parades and fund raisers. The competition band schedule begins with rehearsals during August.
Friday Band includes Friday game day rehearsals, game performances, parades and fundraisers. This group is Ideal for those who are a part of other activities that conflict with marching band, such as fall sports. Friday Band begins when school begins.
All high school band students regardless of which band they choose will be charged the band fee of $150. This will pay for a band uniform usage, gloves and shoes, Friday dinner and drinks, and a band t-shirt.
